Celebrations After Taking the Australian Citizenship Test
Passing any test can be a great cause for celebration, whether it signals the end of a class or a long-running training course, a workplace promotion or a rite of passage. The Australian citizenship test is one that’s certainly worth celebrating once it has been passed. The exam may not be the most challenging that a test-taker will encounter throughout their lives, but the opportunity and accomplishment that it signals can help define a new and exciting part of someone’s life. There are many different ways that test-takers and their friends and loved ones might celebrate after passing the Australian citizenship test, each with its own personal flair and meaning. Of course, one of the most popular ways to celebrate passing the Australian citizenship test is to complete the citizenship application and take part in a citizenship ceremony. New citizens can enjoy meeting and talking with others who have recently become Australians and can receive a warm official welcome from the state. Taking the party home, however, can add a more memorable touch to the occasion.
Some new Australian citizens might decide to have an all-out bash in celebration of their new status, inviting friends, family, and community members to dinner and dancing, or networking with drinks and music. Not all celebrations are as large, of course, and some may prefer to keep the party small and contained, perhaps reserving some time for picture-taking and other memory-making activities. A visit to nearby Australian landmarks or to a favorite destination such as the outback or the ocean can make any test passage extra special, though sometimes all the celebration that’s really desired is to settle in to a new dwelling and relax as a citizen embracing a new homeland.
In fact, celebrating the passage of the Australian citizenship test is something that immigrants can do every day as new citizens, from the process of learning more about the country and its history to checking out new sites and attractions and going about everyday business. With the many exciting opportunities that Australia affords to newcomers from around the world, becoming a citizen can in itself be an extended personal party that celebrates the thrill and potential possible as an Australian. As citizens meet fellow Australians and integrate with society, a celebratory mood is sure to arise often enough, and enjoying life down under has always been a popular national pastime.
The process of parting with a previous home and establishing a new one ñone that’s often very far away– can be a great challenge both logistically and emotionally, but preparing for and taking the Australian citizenship test is a major part of this process, and success deserves to be amply rewarded. New citizens can rejoice in their achievement and feel positive about the possibilities ahead, acknowledging the paths they’ve taken to get to their current location, their current home, their current country: Australia.

Is there any social network related to new citizens or the test? I found one in Facebook but not sure all of them are from Australia. I would love to have a community gathering like couchsurfers or such.
